Vietnam’s Women’s Day

October 20th – women’s day in Vietnam

And it was pretty fun! All the ladies/girls in the office got a gift from our boss, and we spent most of the day eating and hanging. My boss said that he’d go home to make lunch for his wife and that when I wanted to go to the lunchtime wedding, I didn’t have to return to work afterwards. I did but didn’t really work much. I did catch up w/friends on MSN so that was nice 🙂

A doctor was invited to speak to all the ladies at the uni and it was a lot of fun. I didn’t go b/c I wouldn’t understand but they told me about it afterwards.

My boss also said there’s lots of women’s days in Vietnam: birthdays, Valentine’s, labour day, everyday!

  1. HERE’S TO THE WOMAN

    …who knows where she’s going
    and will keep on until she gets there;
    who knows not only what she wants from life
    but what she has to offer in return…
    HERE’S TO THE WOMAN
    who is loyal to family and friends,
    who expects no more from others
    than she is willing to give;
    HERE’S TO THE WOMAN
    who guides and inspires
    not by quoting others philosophies but by living her own good example;
    who accepts both victories and disappointments with the same grace,
    and who can rise above life’s challenges and move on…
    HERE’S TO THE WOMAN
    who gives the gifts of her thoughtfulness,
    who shows her caring with a word of support,
    her understanding with a smile;
    a woman who brings joy to others
    just by being herself…
    Celebrate the joy and power of being a Woman…
