So I used to think I’d be a decent job counselor. It’s just one of those things that has always come naturally to me. OR it might have to do with the fact that I’ve been working since I was legally able (practically forced by my overly eager beaver father). First job: Burger King! Their brekkie is so deep fried and good OR maybe it’s b/c of the fact that I love personality tests which are often part of career advice.
OK OK back to the point:
READ THIS BOOK, you job-seekers you.
Richard Bolles is genius. He is pretty much THE BEST-KNOWN AUTHOR ON FINDING WORK and this ground-breaking book has been around for 40 years! He’s so good, the book’s updated every year! I would tell you more in person if I see you but just in case ce n’est pas possible, voila la blog post.
Anyway, he has great advice. For example, what’s really behind those interview questions; how to deal with unemployment blues; what to do when you constantly get passed by after the interviews; how to figure out your dream job etc.
So give it a go: BUY IT cuz it’s just jam-packed with goodness. I’ll be perusing my copy in Geneva and we’ll see how it goes.
Anyway, if you have job-related questions, we can chat whenever. After my studies, I could potentially become a public servant but for now, this blog entry is still public service, right? RIGHT!
