We don’t live together anymore but we’ve all been to VN within the last year, so here’s my family…brought to you courtesy of my new photo inserting tool :)

Oopsies, lil bro was missing but I felt guilty and got him on there on Sept. 12/07…within the week so that’s ok :)

I wasn’t meant to be a blogger

6. September 2007 | Category Thoughts | 0 Comments »

Truth!

I only blog when I’m in the mood or after I have done something seriously cool, selon moi.

Nowadays, I feel that I’m just living a regular life so what’s there to tell? I know that others can amuse w/the mundane but me, I don’t.

However, I like the freedom of a blog and I like to write so I’m going to keep this up for now……
One day I know it’ll trail off….when is TBD.

Cool things of late:
-early mornings — I must be the slowest riser out there b/c I definitely enjoy lying down doing nothing for at least an hour while it’s silent and the sun’s coming up.

-good, homey meals — Eating is important and I wasn’t eating regularly for at least a month but now I’m committed to it again…the joys of cut up tropical fruit should never be taken for granted :)

-ppl!!! — I’m a terrible consumer and I must stop but I should also take many moments to appreciate how PEOPLE make life worth living. Things are overrated. Friends and family, children and their parents, yes, I kinda luv it :)

-books (so much cheaper in the USA) — I’m ready to read!

So before my eyes tire out from being on a computer all day, I just want to say that I’m back in the blogging act.

Another one of those monster bugs came my way….into the office flew a huge ol’ bat….to me that is! Turns out that it was a huge butterfly the size of my palm (yes, w/long fingers included) that liked to hover near my head and hang upside down…so how was I to know it wasn’t a bat? Inconveniently, my colleague was outta the office so I had to fret alone…I can’t help it, I ran and beckoned s/o else to help shoo it away and yes, I did scream…c’est la vie pour une fille nord americaine…I’m just not used to these kinda things flying INTO an OFFICE!

Danang update

4. September 2007 | Category Danang | 0 Comments »

And I’m back….after a month or so outta here, I’ve returned to Vietnam.

First impressions on the way back:

–Danang is really beautiful and so many things have changed in the time that I’ve been gone…so much new construction and actually, I didn’t recognize several roads…3 shades of blue ocean and hot weather greeted me home.

–My house is great…so peaceful and empty and clean (when I’m not around, that is!) and I have an awesome roommate. It’s been v.easy to get back into the swing of things.

–This HEAT has made me start up my anti-tan campaign. I got semi-burned after a walk on the weekend and my arms turned several shades browner…I was not happy! So today, I pulled out my gloves, thin cardigan, baseball cap under helmut, Japanese leg warmers and VN toe socks and drove to work absolutely covered except for the face mask….I just can’t put it on! Ironically, what is mean to warm legs in other countries are used by me here to combat the sun….so funny but so Danang. I should take a pic but it’s kinda humiliating….

Back to work and my quiet life. It’s soooooooooo different from being home but alas, there are perks including lots of reflection time and warm pool waters and affordable resorts. However, I really hope I’ll have a motorbiking or cycling friend who will magically appear.

ttyl :)
