– TV! Even when it’s just 3 English channels, after hmmmm about 2.5 months w/o it, it’s a marvel and has that zoning out stickiness to it….when I have 40 channels, I have to have a marathon even if all I watch is some Steven Segal movies, a weirdo HBO special about a man and his several wives and even more children (borderline incest…), the American Music Awards and CNN. Yep, that was my first 3 hours back on the tube….mesmerizing really!
– MUSIC
I must say, finding the one or two songs that you really loved at certain times in your life is good but listening to the OC themesong at work is even better! Sing it Celly: Califoooooooornia, Callllllliforrrrrnia, here we come….oooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhh yeah!
Allez, allez Juanes/Keane (found the t-shirt!)/Hoobastank/Dixie Chicks/The Verve/Kanye!!!!

Cee n JB came to visit in early November and I just heard hier that they’re back home in Vancouver. Time flies and I don’t know why but I am definitely bad at planning my vacations b/c I always have friends in town when I’m supposed to be working nights and beating my deadlines.
Like my trip w/June in July, I spent bus rides reading reports and had a couple lonely hours in hotel rooms while my friends frolicked (sp?) in Hanoi. BUT that’s ok cuz c’est ma vie pour l’instant. AND at least I was able to go…there’s def a perk to working independently although for the most part, I feel isolated…–waiiiiiiiit this was suppose to be a perky entry bout friends and such–

REFOCUS:We went to Hanoi and Cat Ba Island and I’m telling you, this is the trip to beat! I don’t know Hanoi very well so whenever I go, it’s new, exotic, and full of good eats. I just never get tickets to the water puppets show although I did when I was there w/my dad (he’s a lucky charm I think). One thing to love: soyabean milk w/tofu chunks!!! Now how could it get better than that? Well, throw in some friends, a couple crooked taxi drivers, fantastically mild and sunny weather, and friendly colleagues and you’d have yourself one fine PAR-TAY! Woot woot!

I think I did Cat Ba right this time…well, I got the hotel down as we stayed in the pretty one with the delish brekkie (Holiday View) instead of the one which advertised Internet but made me walk out the door, down the street, and to the left before I could use it! My friends finally got to drive on the motorbike…I guess with their hectic travel sched, it was almost impossible….6 cities in 8 days! They didn’t eat street food but literally ate on the street….time was precious and it was fun.
MIDNIGHT edition so I must cut this short.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz TBC

Hmmm make that everything mold…what have I been doing these days living in Danang all by my lonesome? CLEANING n WASHING n SIGHING n WONDERING whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?????
There was no point in bringing my nice clothes from Japan to this land especially when clothes in my closet get moist and molding just while sitting there.
Our whole top floor is now a mismash of non-rainbow mold: brown, green, black, and white.
My shoes are molding…on the straps, on the heels, on the base, and on the soft irreplaceable foot pads in my fave Geox…NO!
My old uni knapsack refuses to be rid of its white spots even though I’ve washed it 3x recently.
My HAIRTIE is now polka dot…nice
I’m surprised our washer hasn’t turned moldy for all the use it’s getting.
When it rains, it pours and when it pours, it leaks and then everything turns bleak and then we see mold.
I will never complain about Canada’s non-humid, non-moldy weather ever ever again! With non-leaky houses, roofs, buses, and cars, there’s always a way out
How I miss walking with a jumbo umbrella and being protected….
It’s another edition of the rainy blog…..

Comforts and things to appreciate:
– SOCKS! I’ve been in sandals for most of the past year but let me tell you how comfortable socks and sneakers are. I can actually appreciate the warmth, softness, and protection that my feet have now become unaccustomed to. It’s definitely something NOT to take for granted.
– MY VISOR aka rain protector
For a gal in glasses and make up (not that I’m wearing much these days), the visor is a lifesaver!!!!!! the pineapple flavour actually which means it’s the BEST type ever
Yeah for non-soggy faces!
– WARM and DRY surroundings! In this land of mold, anytime I can get warm and cosy in sweat pants without bug bites in them, I appreciate
– TORTILLAS
The gratefulness doesn’t stop ever…making wraps is easy and quick and so I love my frozen tortillas. I feel like I must be the only person in DN that has them (the flavoured type) and I can’t forget how awesome they are….thanks again to C n JB! Woohoo!
Of course, this is another rainy edition of the blog.
ciaoness!
