On being pale in Danang

Hello! I haven’t kept to the daily updates cuz well, I needed time to gather more stories.

So as I’m sure some of you may know, East Asians (Orientals) like to keep their skin fair and in Danang, that means face masks, gloves, stockings, and this ankle socks.

Would I/did I convert? Well, the idea of a face mask is still too foreign but I am wearing the long lady gloves. One of my coworkers, a very nice Ms. Lien, bought me the Danang standard “noon time” fashions so I couldn’t refuse…. And actually I tan really easily and not in a beautiful way so I also don’t want to become sooooooooooo dark and I am already my darkest. I also want to buy the ankle socks for when I wear pants but I always wear skirts and stocking just seem so unappealing. I’ll post a pic soon.

I actually like the gloves and wear them while riding my new 1-speed bike (with basket). But if I get really dark, I will maybe try out the face mask.

My coworkers actually thought I was weird cuz I didn’t cover up during my first week here. So different the culture is and I’m beginning to see that Canada is really a cold country even in Vancouver where we think it’s pretty mild most of the time.
