Whhatt? Did you think this was the beginning of a personal ad? I kinda did….but that’s another entry I think NOT 🙂

OK so today was a great day…well, I have had a headache since Sunday so that is not good, but it means that I have been leaving the office at 5 and taking the bus (also horrible!) AND that means I get home a bit earlier AND THAT MEANS…

The SHOPS R STILL OPEN!!!!! (So duh, I’m on a HIGH!)

There’s two in my street that I wanted to check out and today I DID!!!!

1. Vietnamese grocery store..so this mite be on the “shadier” side of the street but what do I care, it’s a block from my house and they have VINA banh mi sandwiches!!!! Made on delish baguettes…so of course they’re more than at home but at $6, it’s not DEATH like other things in this city! ANY (deprived) ASIAN WOULD GO CRAZY IN THIS GROCERY STORE!!! And it’s not gonna break the bank so I think I’m becoming friends with these lovely francophone nammers! Yeahhhhh!!!!!!! The guy said he’d show me the cheap vn restos!!! YEAH!!! CUZ so far, the PHO is at best $18 a bowl! OUCH 🙁 And the store has REAL ASIAN TOFU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And even Sarracha hot sauce! And the shop’s owned by a family..the brothers and sisters work there and YOU KNOW I LOVE THAT!

And I spoke strings of VNese sentences…it feels so nice! It’s been so long! Had I not lived in VN, this would not be possible. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! And Thai and Filipino ladies were there too 🙂 We just need our foods yo!

Europe is closer to Asia than Ottawa (FACT!) and so the selection here is quite good. They even had Malaysian curry paste! I do not often see that in Canada. So great! Cannot wait to get me some rotis!!!!!

***One example of the OUTRAGEOUS pricing is the trains (cheaper to fly to Paris then train in Suisse)…but anyway, gotta use ’em some. And the restaurants…and the…STOP! Let’s be positive 🙂

OK now for shop number 2! HAZARD! = happenstance or random good fortune and well you know what, that’s a great name for this CONSIGNMENT shop!!!! ANd my life actually: always good randomness coming up! (Thanks God!)

So a shopoholic told me about this and she only shops in Paris usually and then this store in Geneva…
It also just happens to be one block closer to the lake than the VN store and well, DIRECTLY in front of my Geneva home base! Now if that isn’t awesomesauce, what really is? So this shop is on the non-shady part of my street.

I went in and went to town. I didn’t know but it closed within 15minutes of my arrival. BUT it is soooo good and well priced that I scored me a new blazer and a matching dress…now I am not with it on brands so that does not matter to me but good clothes, well, yes, I care! SO WHO’S GOING SHOPPING WITH ME NEXT TIME???
