Following up to the money call…
Howdy folks!
So yesterday I moved into the apart at the back end of the hotel. I had to pay for my phone call too, but my Interac card was not being cooperative so my final payment must come tonight 🙁
Even after the $100 reduction, my mistake is pretty costly, and it’s making the rounds at the uni as well. So much so that ppl are feeling pretty crummy for me, and today, my boss said that s/o offered to let me stay in their house (I’m not sure w/them or alone) for cheap or for nothing. I don’t know if anything will come of it but that’s still pretty darn nice!
Most of the ladies tend to hug me or pat my head when they see me as they think “Poor, pitiful girl!” She just didn’t understand…”
I don’t know what my boss thinks of me, but I know he thinks the story is pretty funny/unfortunate. But money is just money and it could’ve been a lot worse. I’m getting over it.
TANGENT TIME
B/c I don’t fully understand the language, I get myself into odd situations. I went to a supermarket recently where they had French butter and Edam cheese. I bumped into a prof there and he invited me for dinner. Only after asking a coworker about what he did (b/c I only nodded politely during the dinner even though I did not get it), I discovered that he was the former president of UD. I totally wouldn’t have got that one on my own! He just retired a couple of months ago, and here I was chilling w/him and drinking beer. Pretty cool eh! But anyway, he now knows about my telephone error.
Then I went out for brekkie and asked for butter with my baguette cuz I saw it at the supermarket and in case you don’t know, French butter is really good! Anyway, I got orange mayo instead (infused with chili sauce) My dining companion said that VNese peeps don’t eat butter. Alas, the supermarket was just the supermarket and not the norm! (I should’ve known that anyway.)
Meant to go swimming but will go home to finally unpack and settle instead.
Is it just me, or did you write 5 posts in one day and it is in the 5th post that you write “howdy”?
i can’t believe you’re wearing the gloves. Next I’ll see you wearing one of those gigantic visors and i’ll never want to walk with you in public. So embarassing 🙂 Still working on the flights. I noticed too about all the posts that happen in one day. Why can’t you just write one post?? I know – you like to be verbose. it’s just too much for us to read all at once!
